July 24, 2025 – Border Clash Between Thailand and Cambodia Results in Civilian Casualties and Property Damage
In the morning of July 24, 2025, Cambodian forces initiated heavy artillery attacks against Thai military positions at Prasat Ta Muen Thom in Surin Province. This marked the beginning of a violent clash along the Thai-Cambodian border, with multiple rounds of heavy artillery and BM-21 rocket launcher fire striking Thai territory. Ban Khee Lek, Ban Krut Subdistrict, Ban Krut District, Buriram Province: damage to homes and agricultural livestock.
Village No. 16, Ban Krut Subdistrict, Ban Krut District, Buriram Province: 1 injured civilian.
Ban Nong Raet, Bak Dai Subdistrict, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province: home damage reported.
Ban Nai Bun Luam, Mu 9, Dom Pradit Subdistrict: home damage reported.
In total, there have been 9 confirmed civilian deaths and 14 injuries as of 2:00 PM local time.
The Royal Thai Army strongly condemns the violent attacks targeting civilians by Cambodian forces and has pledged to take all necessary military actions to protect Thai sovereignty and its people. The situation remains closely monitored, with preparations underway to prevent further escalation.
